Xiaomi Mi sphere camera - Comments

Advantages: I've been planning to buy a 360 camera for a year now. I saw a test video on last week. The test was convincing. I decided and buy this one.The material is very good. the camera is very tiny. The software was complicated at first sight. And failed to update the software either first. I tried with my tablet with older Android system. Then it succeeded. I think the app is not particularly compatible with Android Pie.Okey. The camera don't work without SD card. The pictures quality are is very good. Same the videos. On the YouTube you can find lots of tips and tricks. I recommend this camera.

Advantages: This isn't my first 360 camera. I also own the "old" Ricoh Theta M15. I liked it (and it still works great) but video quality was poor. For 360° video you really need 4k -or more. I saw a lot of review and the Xiaomi Mi Sphere Camera seemed the best choice for me, so I bought it during a flash sale (I payed it about €193). The camera works great: before I left for my holiday I did a simple indoor test and I liked the result (see YouTube link). I watched the video in Virtual Reality, too, and it was quite enjoyable and "immersive". I made more photo and video tests during my holidays, but I still have to watch them (I hope to publish some of the new video soon). The only problem I noticed is that the camera gets really hot, especially when you turn the wi-fi connection on. It doesn't seem to affect the performance. I think it's really good camera for the price.

Advantages: The camera came with the regular accessories:- cable- tripod- microfiber caseIt has great quality for video, and even more for taking pictures. Most recommended 360 camera under 500$ mark.Great community and help across the internet. Huge facebook group to post your pictures and ask questions.Software could be better, but it is very good. (PC app crashes sometimes, but nothing more than that).

Advantages: It has very clear images and with high quality!Very light and comfortable to carry around,Battery life is good!Transfer pictures and videos throught he phone app.. which is both an adventage and disadventage (Sometimes I want to move things through my computer which will make it a bit more complicated - since you need the app to save the file in the right form)In general good!

Advantages: The Xiaomi Mi Sphere 4K Panorama Action Camera earns 5 stars, because of the great quality to price ratio. The camera is as we speak still one of the best 360° camera's available. It is perfect for photography, virtual tours and great 360° videos. It has great stabilization and a nice workflow. After taking a 360° photo, with the xiaomi app, it takes only a few secodns to stich and directly send to your mobile device. I woul definitly recommend this cameraif you are looking for an overall great 360° camera.

Limitations: You can't really shoot 360° footage for more then an hour, after taht the camera starts to overheat.

Advantages: it's really inexpensive camera compare to GoPro, and it's very well built, (though haven't try it for under water yet), you got to user you phone all the time, if you want to adjust or change the settings since it doesn't have any display screen on it, I received the package with slightly damage on it's corner but the camera was perfectly fine, very strong package.

Limitations: I would say the user experience is abit annoying since you have to carry your phone all the time with you.

Very good material and very good quality of lenses. i succeeded install the app on Samsung SM-G530BT (Galaxy Gran Prime Duos) direct from ez team, xiaomi page. On play store the message show how to not possible to install but direct download was possible and run normally. Photo with low shutter speed get the impressive night shots. Precise joined parts on video/photo. With this price is great 360 camera.

Limitations: No full resolution video export from iPhone (only works on certain Android models). And no Mac/PC software to unstitch the photo. Hope Xiaomi is going to fix that soon. Those are the only reason I gave 4 stars, software a little lacking but hardware perfect.

It has the highest resolution on under 300$ cameras (with images almost 7000pixels wide) , full manual controls for shutter speed and ISO, as well as remote shooting/viewfinder from the phone. Can't believe how good it is!

Limitations: Cons: -As an english speaker be aware that the manual is only written in Chinese and the iOS app is about 75% english (I used Google Translate App on iPhone to translate). -The iOS app needs to be improved as there is reduced video output resolution vs Android, and output of stabilised video is only possible through the current version of the iOS app -There is currently no video editor for the iOS app, however once video is saved to Camera Roll you can edit (trim) it there. -Needs a timer for photos in standalone mode as fingers get in the way when pressing buttons -Transfer speed of photos/videos from camera to phone could be improved -Doesn't have livestreaming functionality
