Conclusions: THE gimbal camera does not work, and had no response yet.

Conclusions: First of all. WLToys, PLEASE, PLEASE sell the gimballed camera separately. I wrecked mine (my fault), but it took some GREAT videos prior to that. This the most clean and compact gimbal design I've seen. I would think about a standalone gimbal design with a rechargeable battery that one could add on to another drone. The gimbal is the best feature of this drone, and well worth it. Overall the drone worked great. Challenging to fly due to size, but that is part of the learning process. I would highly recommend it.Now just incorporate a GPS and you've got the best drone on the market for the price.The only negatives about this drone were minor. One is the manual, but I managed to figure it out. Also, the big controller was bouncing around loose in the shipping box, which knocked the silver knob off. I glued it back, no problem, but I was lucky the damage was not worse.

Conclusions: My first quad but much easier than helicopters thanks to auto start/land feature. Head tracking works good but tx beeps loudly to remind you its on. Loud enough you'll want to learn to fly without. Return will bring it back in the general direction it took off from it won't come back to exact spot. The speed,alt,and other things on display are "estimates". For sure the batt meters on rx and tx aren't close. Battery lasts 8-10 easy. Unplug camera for longer flights but not much. If you're watching fpv the camera will die and leave plenty of power to land. Battery only con: must use factory TT doesn't ship it to US but a google search will find from China. Wow even got a couple spares in 2weeks from there. 80-90 min charge time.Vid excellent but AVI format may not work with XP or Vista. Didn't on mine.I even bought the baby bro v626 (not here) FPV is Band 4 Channel E 5645 Love it.

Conclusions: First off: Great service from TOMTOP. Super fast shipping!I'm really happy with this toy grade camera drone. I believe in the phrase, "You get what you pay for" but with this drone, you get a little more. First impressions with the build and quality is a passing grade. All functions work... I haven't had the chance to fly this drone all out. If it flies great, bonus for me. If it doesn't, you get what you pay for.

Conclusions: Easy to fly quadcopter. The Q696 is definitely not a sport racer. It has relatively slow punch out and yaw rates. Forward speed is nothing special and it struggles against the wind. I lost another Q696 due to the wind blowing against it, whilst the quad could not fight against it. The Q696 is definitely a camera bird. The gimble is controllable from the controller, and it works very well, as does the FPV. Picture quality and video is decent although jello is visible. Overall a good brushed quad packed with an advanced camera system.

Advantages: This is a great drone for a toy-grade quad. The coreless 2-axis gimbal works really good with only a small amount of jello present. I believe the jello is from the way the props mount to the prop shafts, and not an issue with the gimbal itself. The prop shaft does not rotate, so a gap is required between the prop nut and the top of the prop. That gap has to be close enough to minimize prop shake, but not so close as to cause friction. So, at the tolerance provided as it comes, and the design flaw of that system, some jello is present. Overall though for the price, it is a win. The video is pretty good for a quad of this price range, so its tough to complain. The quad has only two speeds, and even on high, its not going to win any races, but as this is designed as a camera drone, it delivers as you would expect, as far as performance. Shipping time to get this drone from GearBest was typical, and acceptable.
