Review Nubia M2 Lite

Each ZTE smartphone has good performance with an eye for detail, convenient brand interface and the presence of manual settings for cameras. This time Nubia M2 Lite in our review - the device with an improved 16-megapixel front camera and a fingerprint scanner. The first impressions are in the review.

The device is delivered in a small white box, inside of which is a classic power adapter (1.5 A), USB cable, sim eject tool, a warranty card and manual.

Design

The phone is produced in two colors - black-gold and champagne gold. You should not be frightened of “gold” name in the color options - in fact, the first version is mostly black, only with small gold accent. Moreover, the white version has a successful combination of white with silver colors.

As for the design itself, the smartphone has a thin all-metal case with small plastic inserts to improve the signal of antennas. It is immediately noticeable that unlike many “Chinese devices” this device has perfectly made metal edges of the case. However, it is not surprising - the Nubia subbrand was originally conceived by ZTE as a premium branch in the product line designed to meet the higher requirements.

The front side is covered by glass with rounded edges (2,5D). It looks nice, but lovers of protective glasses will not be delighted.

On the upper bezel, there are familiar elements: a front camera, a LED flashlight, a receiver, ambient light and proximity sensors. 

The “Home” button combined with the fingerprint scanner are located under the display. Right and left of the “Home” button are LED indicators - they are flashing during charging and flicker when there are missed calls and unread messages.

Despite the latest trends, 3.5 mm audio jack in this gadget is kept. Moreover, it is located on the bottom end. Next to the audio jack is a micro-USB port and a speaker.

On the right side, there are hybrid SIM tray for two nano-SIM cards or nano-SIM / microSD card, and the power button.

The volume rocker is placed to the left side. Buttons are made of metal.

At the top end of the device is additional microphone. It is responsible for the operation of the noise cancellation system.

The back panel is a monolithic aluminum surface. The metal has a matte texture, on which fingerprints are practically not visible. In addition, here you can find rear camera and LED flashlight. 

For the design, the device received 7,61 points.

Display

The smartphone has a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD resolution. The screen demonstrates a good picture quality, moderately saturated colors, and good contrast. Viewing angles are normal. 

As for the brightness of the screen, the maximum level is good for the daytime, and the minimum level is comfortable even when using the device in total darkness. At the same time, the screen does not flicker even at the minimum brightness, which is important for people sensitive to this parameter.

Our system gave the display 3,4 points. 

Hardware

MTK MT6750 processor with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz, graphics Mali-T860 with a frequency of 700 MHz, 3 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM are under the hood of the device. ZTE also presented a version with 4 GB RAM. There is also a place for microSD, but due to the hybrid design of the SIM tray, you have to choose between a microSD card and a second SIM card.

The games run fast without bugs. The bugs begin to appear when you try to play on high settings. 

As for performance, the system estimated it 6,27 points. 

Camera

The main camera is equipped with a 13-MP Sony Exmor RS CMOS module with a system of “hybrid” autofocus. It named “hybrid” because of a combination of phase detection and contrast detection autofocus technologies.

The front camera has an “improved” sensor with 16 MP.

Cameras received 9,08 points.

Battery

The battery capacity of the smartphone is 3,000mAh. It will provide one day of normal use of the device.  

Our system gave battery 5,5 points.

OS

The device works on operating system Android 6.0 – the old OS. However, there is one comforting shade - the original user interface from Nubia (UI 4.0) is installed on top of the system. It changes the experience of using the device for better.

The mark of battery is 6,7 points. 

Conclusion

M2 Lite by Nubia is a good and inexpensive smartphone. It is good for its improved front shooter and camera modes. The hardware is capable of launching the modern games with normal settings. You should try it!
