People say little about the THL company today. However, there was a time when it was one of the largest manufacturers of smartphones, which could be ordered inexpensively from China. Time passed and THL could no longer compete with such newcomers as Xiaomi or Meizu, that’s why it took a step back. However, contrary to idle thoughts, the company did not disappear, but turned into an equally large OEM manufacturer. Today, THL produces smartphones for a huge number of different small brands. For example, the DEXP company, which does not hide its roots. Recently, the company released new phone - THL Knight 2. The device supports wireless charging. Let’s take a close look at it!

Package
The device comes in white box. The specifications are located on the bottom of its back.
Inside of the box, we can find a manual, a SIM card removal tool, a tempered glass screen protector, a power adapter (5V 2A), and USB Type-C adaptor.
Design
The non-standard rounded display, thin bezels on sides and quite thick bezels on the top and the bottom of front panel stand out. There are onscreen buttons, their location can be selected from the settings menu. Well, the upper part of the device contains a front camera, a receiver and a sensor unit.
The sides are made of metal, but the back panel is plastic. However, this line of thought from manufacture is understandable, since the support of wireless charging imposes its limitations.
On the left side, there is a tray for two nano-SIM cards or one SIM and a microSD card.
The back panel of the device looks amazing: it's all glossy and rounded with a common functional unit containing dual camera, a dual LED flash, and a fingerprint scanner.
3.5 mm audio jack is located on the top of the device.
Type C, the speaker and the main microphone are located at the bottom of the device.
On the right side, the power button and the volume rocker are placed.

Display
In THL Knight 2, there is a 6-inch IPS display with HD + resolution (1440 x 720). The display has an aspect ratio of 18:9. The screen colors are good, the device has a solid brightness. The viewing angles are normal, not perfect.
As for display, the system gave it 5,56 points.
Hardware
By modern standards, the hardware is quite weak in THL Knight 2. The device is powered by octa-core Mediatek MTK6750 with a maximum clock speed of 1.5 GHz. The dual-core Mali-T860 MP2 is responsible for graphics.
The memory ratio is almost flagship: 4GB RAM with a read / write speed of about 4000 MB / s and 64GB ROM with a speed of about 120 MB / s.
After a continuous run of Epic Citadel, there were no bugs.
During long playing, the phone is seriously heated. When playing World of Tanks Blitz at the high settings, FPS value falls to unplayable 12. For a comfortable game, we can recommend normal settings.

Camera
The main dual camera consisting of 13 MP Samsung s5k3l8 primary sensor and 5 MP secondary sensor. The quality of photos is average.
The front camera is equipped with 8 MP OmniVision ov8856 sensor that slightly blurs around the edges. In the dark, the images are noisy.
The camera application in THL Knight 2 is modified and strangely reminds a similar one on Ulefone. In the settings, you can set the professional mode, HDR.
The cameras received 6,2 points.
Battery
In THL Knight 2, there is a non-removable 4200mAh battery. When testing via the USB tester, it was possible to fill in about 4100mAhin smartphone, which indicates the correctness of the declared capacity. If we use power adapter the charging time takes up 3 hours. The wireless charging - 5 hours.

OS
THL Knight 2 runs on pure Android 7.0. Here you can find Google services that simplify the working process on the device. There are navigation buttons setting, various gestures and the ability to disable unnecessary system applications.
The OS of the device received 6,7 points.
Conclusion
Although we did not expect a flagships killer, we still believed that the THL experience would help to compare Knight 2 with similar models from Xiaomi. However, unlike Xiaomi, THL brought to the average level almost all the specs of the device: average cameras, average sound, average performance and autonomy. The main advantages are a screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9, 4200mAh battery, the support of wireless charging. If you need middle device with a good battery, a normal camera and support for wireless charging, THL Knight 2 is good option for purchase.
