Lenovo again embarks on the development of its own brand, introducing a new smartphone S5. In design, specs, features, and, most importantly, the cost, this unit is a competitor of the recently released Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.

Design
The front panel of the device has a large bezel-les display. On the upper bezel, there is a front camera and a receiver. There is nothing on the bottom panel.
On the rear panel, there is a dual camera in a horizontal position in the upper left corner. Next to the cameras is a dual LED flashlight. The fingerprint scanner is located in the center of the back under dual camera.
On the right side, the power button and volume rocker are placed.
On the left is a hybrid tray for two nano-sim cards / one nano-sim card and microSD.
There is a 3.5 mm audio jack on top.
At the bottom, there are micro USB port and the speaker.
The smartphone is available in red and black colors, but the front panel in both cases is made in a dark version.
The design of the device received 8.24 points in our system.
Display
Lenovo S5 received a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels (18: 9), covered with a 2.5D-glass.
The system rated the display at 7.91 points.
Hardware
The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz, which provides high performance, powers the smartphone. Qualcomm Adreno 506 processor with a clock speed of 650 MHz is responsible for the graphics component.
As for RAM and ROM, the manufacturers released two different versions. There is a standard version with 64 GB of ROM and 4 GB RAM. In addition, there is an inexpensive option - 32 GB ROM and 4 GB of RAM. The second slot supports microSD card up to 128 GB.
Performance
Our system estimated the performance 8.7 points. The Antutu app gave 77706 points. A more detailed information on the tests is presented below:
Camera
The manufacturer placed special emphasis on the cameras. Two 13-megapixel sensors (color and monochrome) with aperture f / 2.2 is the main one. It supports several shooting modes, including portrait with background blur, manual settings and black and white photos.
A front camera with 16 MP resolution takes good photos.
In total, the cameras received a mark of 8.48 points.
Battery
The capacity of the built-in battery is 3 000 mAh. The device supports fast charging. With its help, the smartphone fully charged in 100 minutes.
The battery received the lowest mark in our system - 5.51 points.
Software
The device runs on Android Oreo with ZUI 3.7 with support for U-touch4.0, allowing you to manage the smartphone without navigation buttons.
Operating system received a mark of 8.97 points in the system.
Conclusion
Lenovo S5 is a good smartphone with specs, which are so necessary in a modern world. There is enough memory of ROM and RAM, the display is large (if you do not like large display, then it's better not to buy it), nice cameras. The phone is recommended!
