Design

In the middle price segment, most of the latest Xiaomi smartphones are difficult to distinguish from each other.

The front panel has a huge bezel-less display with a popular “notch,” which first appeared in the famous Apple iPhone X. Compared to its predecessor, the new phone has this notch, which has two cameras, a receiver, and sensors.

The back panel of Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is made of metal. On top and bottom, there are small plastic inserts for antennas and wireless modules. We did not notice serious problems with ergonomics in Redmi Note 6 Pro - it is easy to use the smartphone with one hand.

Display

Redmi Note 5 is equipped with a 5.99-inch display; Redmi Note 6 Pro has a 6.26-inch screen. Technically, the display of the new model has become larger, but we did not feel difference in size due to the big notch at the top of the panel. 

The Redmi Note 6 Pro received a “regular” display of the mid-budget smartphone. Due to the pixel density of 403 ppi (resolution - 2280 by 1080 pixels), there are no problems with color reproduction and brightness. 

The displat receives a mark of 9,26 points.

Hardware

Redmi Note 5 became the first Xiaomi smartphone with a Snapdragon 636 processor. The RAM and ROM in the device is 3/32 GB.

The new Redmi Note 6 Pro is equipped with the same hardware as in Redmi Note 5. This means that there will be any performance problems. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro interface works smoothly. 

Users can play modern games (PUBG, Asphalt) but on mid settings.

Camera

Redmi Note 6 Pro has dual main camera (12 MP main sensor and 5 MP secondary sensor). The pixel size of the main module is 1.4µm, the aperture is f / 1.9 and f / 2.0 respectively.

The smartphone is equipped with two front cameras. This is the most noticeable change compared to Redmi Note 5 Pro: it has 20 MP main sensor and 2 MP secondary.

The system rated cameras at 8,79 points.

Battery

As in Redmi Note 5, the battery capacity in the new Redmi Note 6 Pro is 4000 mAh. There was no quick charger in the package. Nevertheless, the device supports such a technology. A battery charging with help of Quick Charge 3.0 takes 1 hour 55 minutes. The charging via standard power adapter takes 2 hours and 40 minutes. 

The system gave the battery 8,26 points.

OS

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro works on the Android 8.1 operating system with the MIUI 9.6 skin covering it, but the manufacturer will certainly update the smartphone to the latest MIUI 10. 

The OS gets 8,92 points.
