Conclusions: very good phone

Advantages: it's screen is big and beautiful, vibrant colours catch your eyes, it's easy to handle and sits well on hand even though is so big. it's fluid and fast. cameras are of lowish quality but expected for the price range so not really a con.

Advantages: Sturdy and solid, this phone seems built to last. Good specs for the price. Downloaded and installed all my favourite apps in a flash, no issues with Play Store. Updated Doogee OS on this is greatly improved over those found on X-series. Screen is bright and responsive, with crisp resolution and inky blacks that appear almost OLED-like. Auto-brightness adjusts quick and correctly, surprising for this price-class. Battery lasts really well, over 2 days of moderate use on Wifi and streaming Youtube, Netflix, etc. Speaker is quite loud with adjustments to improve sound quality. Lots of extras in box is appreciated, like the extra screen protector, Nano-sim adaptor, earphones, silicon-case with port-covers (cool idea) and ring-stand/holder tinge. A great buy, if you can find it available.

Limitations: Phone is quite hefty, but luckily its thin enough to not feel like a burden. Design is pretty standard and unimaginative when compared to new models with thin bezels and QHD screens in similar price-range. Fingerprint scanner can be a bit hit-and-miss, sometimes requiring a PIN to unlock if it struggles to detect your print correctly. Some Doogee-designed aps like Clock seem a bit low-res and blocky with odd functionality. Older Android Marshmallow might be starting to show its age, and there appears to be no update coming for Nougat. Otherwise, this is a solid budget phone, perfect for media and browsing.

Conclusions: My first impressions are very positive. The phone is bright, quick, responsive and appears to be well made. The fingerprint sensor seems to be excellent and very quick to recognise your finger. As I had read elsewhere, the translations of some UI elements to English are not perfect, but you can still understand what they are so it isn't really a problem in general use. Overall an excellent product for the price.
