Xiaomi Mi 5s - Comments

Advantages: 3 Months since I started using it, absolutely perfect. There are things I don't like of course, like the MIUI layer on top of Android and the "allow autostart" permission that you have to give to your apps in case you want to get push notifications... But it also comes with great features that Android lacks, like app locking, the "second space", customization with themes... those are great things, so once you get used to MIUI it's just perfect. The phone performs well, good signal, fast, good camera... maybe the fingerprint sensor needs some work, cause sometimes it refuses to recognize me hehe. But overall the phone is great.

Limitations: As I said, MIUI and the fingerprint sensor. But those are just minor things.

Conclusions: very nice phone, fast and setup was in English that what I was choosing, battery time charges very fast and holds more that a day when using it, I have iphone 6s now for few years and battery in sleep mode after night almost empty, so Xiaomi is very nice. I need to get used to Android navigations but is quiet easy. User manual you can find on internet, now just playing with settings myself after will read more in depth how to use with manual. Phone cam similar like iphone box, and speakers box separate, was US charger with separate adding to use on EU socket. Phone itself works very fast that I like, open home page with fingerprint usually takes couple of try but it works. And I receive new email notification first on Xiamomi and then after few min on iphone. So far am very pleased for this price such a good quality. Plus I wanted to use for 2 sims this is a great advantage of this phone.

Conclusions: The best choice of the phone at the time of purchase. The productive processor of the last generation. Sufficient RAM. 64 GB internal memory. Dual-band Wai Fay Availability of alternative firmware. Fast charging. Works without delays.

Conclusions: It is one of the best smartphone of market, it is true, but you need to change the stock rom that comes with the mi5s, I think Banggood have put their own rom version, a lot of bugs in it, you need to install the global rom version from Xiaomi site, bacause the stock rom freezes the smartphone all the time.

Conclusions: I received it a little less than 3 weeks after the order, with no taxes, in perfect condition. The phone is incredible for this price. I now can take fantastic pictures of my son at any moment. Everything works perfectly. French language installed without any problem. I did not try the fingerprint system for now, but anyway the good old pin does the job. Maybe I'll buy another one for my wife.

Advantages: The haptic of the phone is really nice and the system runs extremly fast. On a normal day (2h music via bluetooth, 1,5h gaming, many push messages and internet) the battery lasts for more than one day.

Limitations: The phone came with a pre installed shop rom, which won't get any updates.

Limitations: no band 20 of 4G so several UK network will not give you 4g connection. No problem with EE as it supports 3 other bands that are supported by the phone.

Advantages: Coming from an iphone 4S, this phone really change my life in every possible way. Faster, smoother, good camera and really nice feature. EU adaptater as a GIFT. (no custom and taxes via French priority line)

Limitations: The ROM was not the official Global but an alternative Chinese ROM...

Advantages: I'm still "exploring" its capacities, but so far and comparing with my previous Samsung S4 (an excellent phone), I'm quite satisfied

Limitations: Once again and comparing with the Samsung, the software could be better and I believe that it will be a matter of time.

Limitations: - Shop Rom ... but I could upload the Global Rom within 10 minutes
